What this site collects, where it goes, and what it doesn't do. Last updated September 26, 2026.
Who runs this site
scotheo.com is run by Scout Theory LLC, an independent internet company owned and operated by Andy Smigelski. Questions about this policy go to andy@scotheo.com.
What this site collects
This site only collects what you choose to send through its contact forms:
- Your name and email address
- The topic you pick, and any company, website or domain name you add
- Your message
- Technical context sent with the form: the page you sent it from, the page that referred you, your browser's user-agent string, and the time you sent it
If you email or message me directly, I receive whatever you include, the same as any email or WhatsApp message.
Where it goes
Form messages are delivered to a Google Sheet through Google Apps Script, and a notification is sent to andy@scotheo.com. Google processes that data under its own terms and privacy policy. Messages are used only to read and reply to you, and to keep a record of business conversations.
What this site doesn't do
- No analytics or advertising trackers run on this site.
- This site sets no cookies.
- Your information is never sold or rented.
Things that touch your browser
- Fonts. Typefaces load from Google Fonts, so your browser contacts Google's servers, which receive your IP address.
- Theme preference. If you switch between light and dark mode, that choice is saved in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device.
- Server logs. Like most websites, the server keeps standard access logs (IP address, pages requested, browser type and time) for security and troubleshooting.
Other sites
This site links to other websites, including other Scout Theory projects. Each has its own privacy policy, and this policy covers scotheo.com only.
Keeping and deleting your data
Messages are kept for as long as they're useful for the conversation and for business records. You can ask to see, correct or delete what you've sent by emailing andy@scotheo.com.
Children
This site isn't directed at children, and it doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date.
